Health and Physical Fitness

Health is very important part in ones life. So every one should take care of their health. Nowadays people are trying to be fit and active. For this they are joining fitness clubs, doing exercises regularly, etc. If we are active then we can be fit, strong and healthy. There is relation between physical fitness and health. If we are physically fit then we will have healthier life. If we overweight then we can reduce the weight or loose the extra pounds of fat by doing exercises and controlling the food we take.

Exercise is the best way to keep our body fit, active and healthy. We should walk daily for 30 minutes. We can also do brisk walk. We can even join aerobics, sports, swimming, gym, etc. we should warm up our body before we do exercises so that we can prevent injuries while we are doing exercises. After warm up we should stretch our body. There are 24 stretching types. We should not do exercises at a time. We should increase the time gradually.

We can also keep our weight in control by taking healthy diet. Healthy diet means food which is rich in vitamins, proteins and less in carbohydrates, fats and calories. By keeping our body weight in control we can be safe from many health diseases such as cholesterol, diabetes, blood pressure, heart strokes, etc. Carbohydrates will convert into fats in the digestion process so we should eat food which is less in carbohydrates and fats. We should be away from smoke and drink. By smoking and drinking we may get lung cancer and other diseases and women may get complications while giving birth.

We should consult a doctor before we start our fitness program. We can also consult fitness trainer. He will give advice about the best fitness exercises and programs according to our body stamina and fitness. By doing exercises we can be active and happy. Anxiety and depressions will be decreased. We can even control anger for small issues. There is saying that health is wealth. If we are healthy then we can do any work easily. If we are overweight then there is a chance that we may be lazy. If we are lazy then we will postpone the works we have to do and we will not have the interest to do any work. So we should be active, fit, strong and healthy always.

The Importance of Physical Activity

Regular aerobic physical activity increases your fitness level and capacity for exercise. Regular activity, fitness and exercise, are critical for the health and well being of people of all ages. Research shows that everyone, young or old can benefit from regular exercise, either vigourous or moderate. Even very old adults can improve mobility, and function through physical activity. It should be a priority for everyone. Millions of people suffer from chronic illnesses, that can significantly improve through activity. Exercise reduces the risk of heart disease, diabetes, colon cancer, and high blood pressure. People who are active outlive those who are inactive.

Regular physical fitness activity provides many benefits such as:

  • Helps reduce your risk of heart disease
  • Aids in controlling blood cholesterol and diabetes.
  • It also helps to control weight
  • Builds stronger bones
  • Smokers who become physically active are more likely to cut down or stop smoking.
  • Aids in reducing anxiety and depression
  • Increases energy levels

Despite the well known benefits, most adults and children lead relatively sedentary lifestyles. They are not active enough. A sedentary lifestyle is defined as engaging in no leisure-time physical activity (exercises, sports, physically active hobbies) in a two-week period. Typically alot of older people lead sedentary lifestyles. More than one-third of young people in grades 9-12 do not exercise regularly. They tend to watch too much television or doing computer.
