Benefits of Losing Weight

There are lots of benefits while losing the weight:

Weight-bearing exercise, such as walking and jogging, has long been established as an effective way to protect against loss of bone density. More recently, researchers have discovered that weight training incurs similar benefits. When you force your bones to carry more weight on a regular basis, they respond by retaining more of the minerals that keep them sturdy and strong.

Weight loss prevents high blood pressure, heart disease and stroke

Reducing your weight by 5-10 percent can decrease your chance of developing heart disease or having a stroke. You can improve your heart function, blood pressure and your levels of blood cholesterol and triglycerides.

Decreasing your risk of injury

Improving your fitness has another unexpected side effect: it may help protect you against injury. There are several reasons for this:

Weak and inflexible muscles lead to injury

When muscles are reconditioned, tight, or out of balance with opposing muscle groups, the risk of injury is greatly increased. For example, sedentary office workers who works many hours a day at a seeks commonly end up with tight back muscles and wakened abdominal muscle’s because the abdominal muscles and the back muscles support the spine together, an imbalance often results in injuries that can cause chronic low- or middle-back pain. By increasing your muscles strength and range of motion, you decrease your likelihood of these types of injuries.

While many of the perks of staying in shape are often covered in magazine articles and news reports, there are many other benefits. For example, regular exercise can prevent constipation. Here are some other under-reported benefits:

  1. Relief from chronic join pain
  2. Increased energy
  3. Relief from insomnia
  4. Improved mood
  5. Enhanced self-image
  6. Increased sex drive
  7. Increasing alertness and job performance
  8. Stress relief

Muscular strength

Muscular strength is the force that a muscle or a muscle group can exert when it contracts. For example, when you pick up a shopping bag, you are contracting the biceps muscles and exerting a force on the bag against gravity, muscular strength assists you whenever you make a move. It is required in all aspects of life. Without it, you would feel weak and lethargic, unable to walk, stand, sit or perform simple everyday tasks.

Muscular endurance: Muscular endurance is the length of time you can continually exert muscular force or the number of contractions the muscle can withstand before becoming fatigued. Walking is a test of muscular endurance, as is standing for long periods, gardening, cleaning, writing, and so on.

Cardiovascular endurance

Cardiovascular endurance, also called aerobic fitness, is a measure of your heart’s stamina; it is a function of the heart-lung system and its ability to deliver blood and oxygen to the muscles during ongoing exercise. This is arguably the most important component of fitness. All of the other systems of the body also require a well turned circulatory stems. To maintain a high energy level, to prevent disease, and to enjoy a high quality of life, this system must be taxed on regular basis.

Get Rid of Gout

Gout is a joint disease caused by high levels of uric acid in the blood. This painful disease is more common among people who are overweight. It is important to know that some diets (e.g. high protein diet) can trigger gout attacks, so if you have a history of the disease, check with your doctor before trying to lose weight.
